Modernising the ACT Revenue Office with OutSystems

Dashboard reporting that once took a week is now available in near-real-time. And these time savings all add up. The Revenue Office plans to reduce the number of staff dedicated to rental bonds – moving staff into roles that add more value to the organisation.

DB Results has been featured by OutSystems in a case study highlighting our work with the ACT Revenue Office. We used our expertise as an OutSystems Elite Partner to rapidly develop and implement two new self-service portals: one for payroll tax, and one for rental bonds. The new portals replaced legacy systems that were up to 20 years old, enabling the ACT Revenue Office to modernise its manual, outdated processes through an extensive change management plan.

The results? Thanks to rules engines and cloud storage, the majority of transactions can now take place without any intervention from the ACT Revenue Office. Processing time is cut by 90%, with an undisputed refund request now taking just a day. Notices are now sent digitally, and the new platform allows for dashboard reporting in near real-time. All this adds up to quicker, easier refunds, fewer complaints, and more productive, valuable work for staff.
