Australian technology business DB Results is proud to partner with Hand-n-Hand (Helping Australian & New Zealand Nurses and Doctors) to support the mental health of frontline healthcare workers.
During the Covid-19 pandemic one in 10 Australian healthcare workers had thoughts of suicide or self-harm. This statistic is deeply concerning for the sector and the communities they serve.
Hand-n-Hand is a Not-for-Profit that offers free confidential peer support and who are determined to make a difference in the state of mental health for our healthcare workers. “I want to create a culture in healthcare where the mental health of all workers is valued and help can be sought without fear or shame” said Dr. Tahnee Bridson, founder, and President of Hand-n-Hand.
The work of Hand-n-Hand that is undertaken by volunteer healthcare workers, to help improve the lives of their peers, struck a chord with DB Results Co-CEO Gavin Bunshaw, inspiring him to act.
DB Results has developed a state-of-the-art digital portal allowing Hand-n-Hand to expand their services for expert, safe and private mental health support. The portal enables a seamless matching of participants with their ideal support network with greater security, and importantly has created efficiencies that saves precious resources, i.e. volunteer healthcare workers’ time. This means that the service is now scalable and sustainable.
Bridson states, "This innovative digital platform provides an avenue for Hand-n-Hand to positively impact the lives of many more healthcare workers. It enables them to easily and privately access the support they need to perform their frontline roles effectively and maintain their wellbeing”.
“At DB Results, we are committed to fulfilling our company purpose through leveraging our skills, innovation, thought leadership, energy, and deep-seated knowledge, as well as dedicating our time and funds. We believe that philanthropy is a powerful tool that can drive social change and foster the growth of great businesses” Mr Bunshaw said.
“We are proud to be able to support Hand-n-Hand in a way that directly supports the work they do, whilst also realising our own mission to HELP; to lead changes that enhance and enrich improve people’s lives in the areas of Health, Environment, Lifestyle and Poverty" said Candy D’Menzie, Head of Philanthropy DB Results.
Simon Avrutis, CEO Hand-n-Hand, is thrilled with the outcome, “We are grateful to DB Results. They have done an amazing job with the platform which will make our lives easier in helping our peers- a huge thank you to the whole team!”.
