We know there's one thing that really sets us apart: our people. In this series, we take you behind the scenes with people from all over DB Results and show you what really makes us tick.
Hello, my name is Roxanne (but you can call me Roxy for short) I am a Business Analyst at DB Results’ Sydney Office.
Although my typical role on projects is a Business Analysis, I occasionally work as a Test Analyst. I’ve recently finished a proof of value telemedicine project for a hospital in Thailand and I am currently working on numerous Digital Projects.
My typical workday depends on the stage of a project, during the Blueprint stage my day consists of workshops where I am gathering requirements and clarifying questions with the Product Owner, as well as working closely with the team to come up with a solution. During the build stage of a project, I will be completing desk checks and explaining user stories with developers and if there are complete features, showcasing them to the Product Owner to get a sign off.
I've primarily worked on digital projects, so developers will often come to me for clarification on certain features and requirements.
Working on Digital Transformation Projects have been the highlight of my career so far. I love seeing the lifecycle of a project and being a part of the design of a solution.
I started with DB Results in 2020 fresh out of University. Previously I worked at a before and after-school care at a local primary school so completely different from what I'm doing now.
I attended University Technology in Sydney and studied business and majored in economics. So, my thought process behind starting a career was that I did not want a job that was monotonous. When we work on projects at DB Results there's always a start and end date, I enjoy that!
The best part of my job is the people I work with, I have formed great relationships with all my colleagues, and they make my day much nicer. Relaying good feedback to the team about a project and letting them know their work is appreciated is also one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
My greatest personal achievement was going on exchange to the United States. I attended the University of Arkansas for my final year of uni. It was one of my first true independent experiences that I planned and funded on my own.
When I am away from DB Results, I love playing on my netball team (The Frosty Fruits) and have been at the same club for 20 years! We play every Sunday and afterwards we spend a bit of time socialising. Outside of sports I am an avid reader, I’ve recently joined my local library and it’s awesome! In the summertime I like to go to the beach and bring my sudoku book with me and bake in the sun.
During lockdowns I began baking delicious cookies and now that we have returned to the office, I am happy to share them because I know the amount of sugar and butter that goes into recipes. White chocolate and macadamia are my specialty.
