Hello, my name is Dylan and I’m an Associate Consultant at DB Results’ Melbourne office. It’s hard to believe I’m approaching my one-year anniversary with the organisation!

I'm currently working as a Data Analyst for the Data Migration team. My average workday is spent creating detailed migration and segregation designs, conducting walkthroughs with solution owners, conducting user access audit, implementing user access controls, or attending large meetings. It’s fair to say there’s never a dull moment!

Beside a friendly face, people may come to me for help with detailing requirements and user access audits.

So far, my most rewarding moment at DB Results has been getting approval on my Day 1 Design Document in my current project, the detailed requirements document went through six reviewers and two approvers, and it was one of the first within the Data Migration Stream to be fully completed and approved. I was pleased with this accomplishment.

Before joining the DB Results team, I worked in the Insurance field as an IT Systems manager where my team managed the backend systems for a Gym & Martial Arts insurance company. It was an extremely interesting role, dealing with a lot of different personalities and businesses which has provided me with skills applicable for my current role.

The most enjoyable part of my job at DB Results is interacting with the team and working together towards a solution.  I also enjoy the interesting challenges that come with consulting. Facing and overcoming these challenges is when I see my greatest personal growth.

From outside of the consulting world, the biggest misunderstanding is that we come into a business, change everything, and leave. When really, we are here to solve any problem a business may have, from the highest level to the lowest.  Our job is to ensure everyone is being helped and winning!

When I am away from DB Results, I'm a bit of a fitness fanatic. I enjoy most sports including footy, basketball, cricket, golf, martial arts, and swimming. In fact, I'm secretly (or not so secretly) a basketball expert, I can name all the players on every team in the NBA and love to have a chat or even debate about anything to do with basketball. During my 2020 cricket season I was honoured to be awarded the Rodger Spaul Medal which is the equivalent to my cricket clubs MVP medal, this was a proud moment for me and one of my greatest personal achievements.

If I am not indulging in sports or plugging away at DB Results you can find me relaxing at home watching tv or reading Lord of the Rings.
