An ageing and unsupported accounting platform meant deployment to the latest version of SAP across this major Australian brand’s operations was imperative.
Impacting more than 3,800 staff directly and over 30,000 indirectly, a robust organisational change management (OCM) program was required.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT IN TIGHT TIMEFRAMES DEMANDS EXPERIENCE
Unforeseen problems meant DB Results were invited to take on the change management activities 10 months out from deployment.
To execute all required tasks over the remaining months, time was critical. We had to conduct change impact assessments, initiate a large cross-organisation change network and structure solid change management and communications activities.
A READY WORKFORCE
Impacted staff were supported by the change network of more than 300 selected change champions and super users. Their buy-in and support meant there was business-wide ownership of the changes. The activities required to ready all business areas was managed at the local operational level.
Weekly forums guided business readiness activities in the lead up to the deployment of the new system. Structured and targeted business communications via multiple channels including face to face, phone conference forums, intranet, social media, and online collaboration tools were utilised.
Through our business-focused support process that we call ‘HyperCare’, our client’s large workforce adopted the SAP upgrade with ease. They could now more efficiently and accurately manage financials across global entities.
